Fran Bentley

The 22-year-old began her career at Manchester United in the youth age groups before switching to the blue side of the city in 2017, where she won the FA Development League with the Manchester City Academy. Bentley returned to her childhood team when Manchester United reformed their women’s side in 2018 where she would make one appearance for the Red Devils in the first half of the season before heading to Sheffield United on-loan for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign. She gained more valuable experience in the Championship at Blackburn Rovers and has also earned international honours having represented the Lionesses from the Under-15s to Under-23s. After having an excellent first season in the Robins’ net, keeping a then club record of 10 clean sheets, Bentley was awarded with the club’s Young Player of the Season and a permanent contract. She played a crucial role in the Robins’ title success, playing every minute of the league season and captaining the side for the latter stages of the campaign. The close of the campaign brought with it the club’s Players’ Player award, Barclays Women’s Championship Golden Glove and a new two-year contract. Bentley signed a new two-year deal at Bristol City in the summer of 2025, keeping her at the club until the summer of 2027.

Goalkeeper Emily Mutch joined in the summer of 2025 and signed a two-year deal at the club. The 24-year-old spent the previous three seasons at Motherwell and has represented Scotland from Under-17 to Under-23 level. Head Coach Charlotte Healy said: “It is a big move for Emily from Scotland, and we are really pleased to have her on board.

Ella Powell-1

The 23-year-old arrived in the summer of 2021 and has been capped at senior international level by Wales as well as representing her country at the Under-17 and Under-19 age groups. The full-back progressed through the Cardiff City Academy, before taking her talents stateside to play for NCCA college outfit Georgia State Panthers. Powell returned to the UK in June 2019 to play for Lewes FC in the FA Championship prior to a move to Charlton Athletic for the 2020/21 campaign. The wing-back was a near ever-present figure in the Robins’ defensive line in 2021/22, making 24 appearances in all competitions and providing three assists in her first season with the Robins. She made a further 28 appearances in all competitions in the 2022/23 season as Lauren Smith’s side won the Barclays Women’s Championship, scoring a first goal on her 50th City appearance. Powell travelled with Wales to the European Championships in the summer of 2025. In July 2025, Powell signed a one-year extension with the club.

Centre back Gemma Lawley signed a two-year deal with the club in the Summer of 2025. The 22-year-old joined the Robins having been at Birmingham City for seven years. She made her Women’s Super League debut for the Blues at just 17-years-old before signing her first professional deal.

Bristol City signed Sille Struck in September 2023 from Levante Las Planas. Born in Denmark, Struck began her career at Team Viborg before enjoying time at Danish sides Odense Q and FC Thy-Thisted. Then, the defender made the move to Spain where she racked up 68 appearances in Spanish football – firstly with Rayo Vallencano and Levante Las Planas. As a young player, Struck represented Denmark at the U16, U17 and U19 levels. Struck signed a new two-year deal in July 2025.

Mari Ward celebrated her 18th birthday by signing her first professional contract with Bristol City in January 2024. The wing-back made her debut at 17 years old in January 2023, playing 90 minutes in the Robins’ dramatic 3-2 win over Coventry United and earning the Pick of the Match award. Initially in the club’s academy system, Ward has grown into a first-team player and made her Women’s Super League debut in the 2023/24 season. Previous clubs include Plymouth Argyle prior to joining the City Academy, where she played in the Women’s National League. Internationally, Ward has risen through the Young Lionesses ranks, representing England U17s and U19s.

Oliwia Woś is a defender at Bristol City who has appeared in eight WSL 2 games in 2025/2026 since joining the club on 2nd February 2026, starting in six of these and coming on as a substitute on two occasions.The last WSL 2 appearance that Woś made came on May 2 for Bristol City versus Sheffield United; a meeting that she played 76 minutes in during a 4-0 win. She has been booked three times.In last season's Super League Women, Wos played in 20 games for Basel and scored four goals.Woś moved to Bristol City in February 2026 from Nürnberg, for whom she made 16 league appearances in total, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

Welsh international Esther Morgan signed a two-year deal at Bristol City in the summer of 2025. The 22-year-old defender joined after a spell on loan at Sheffield United from Hearts in Scotland. Morgan signed fresh from being part of the historic Wales squad who took part in a major tournament for the first time in the country’s history. She played in all three matches in the group stage of Euro 2025.

Sophie Ingle-1

Five-time Barclays Women’s Super League title-winner Sophie Ingle returned to Bristol City, 10 years after her first spell at the club, in the summer of 2025. The 33-year-old put pen to paper on a two-year deal – with a one-year option – following her departure from Chelsea. In her seven years at the Blues, she won 11 trophies, including five WSL titles. Back in 2014, Ingle captained then Bristol Academy and made 27 appearances in the top flight, winning player of the year. Following this, the Welsh international had a spell at Liverpool, before seven years at Chelsea. This was her most successful spell, winning five WSL titles and eleven trophies during that time, including the Women’s FA Cup, League Cup and Community Shield. Ingle also made her international return on the biggest stage this summer, marking her 142nd appearance in a Wales shirt, with the nation qualifying for a major tournament for the very first time at Euro 2025.

Champions League winner Vicky Losada joined City on a three-year deal in the summer of 2025. The midfielder previously captained Brighton in the Barclays Women’s Super League and made 47 appearances. She won the Champions League with Barcelona in 2021, as well as six Liga F titles in Spain.Losada has also made 65 appearances.

Emily Syme-1

The midfielder joined the Robins on a one-year deal in 2022 from Barclays FA Women’s Super League side Aston Villa, where she spent two years – including a loan spell with Sheffield United for part of last season. Syme re-joined City after starting her journey in the West Country at Under-15s level, before progressing through the club’s academy system to make one WSL appearance during the 2017/18 campaign. Syme has also represented at England at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level. She played an integral role in the Robins’ road to the league title. Same signed a one-year contract extension in the summer of 2025.

Malaika Meena signed for City on a two-and-a-half-year deal with the option of a further year in January 2025. The midfielder came through the academy systems at both Arsenal and then Chelsea before signing for Wake Forest University in North Carolina. She spent three and a half years in the USA before returning to England to sign for the Robins.

Bristol City signed Marine Dafeur on a two-year deal in 2025. The 30-year-old joined after spending her whole career in France and arrives ahead of the 2025/26 WSL 2 campaign. Her most recent club FC Fluery play in the Première Ligue – the highest level of women’s football in France. Dafeur can play as both a left back and left midfield and becomes Charlotte Healy’s 13th signing of the season. In 2023, she decided to switch her allegiance from international football with France and joined Algeria, where she has made nine appearances, scoring three goals.

Katie Robinson signed for Bristol City Women from Barclays WSL 1 side Aston Villa. The 23-year-old put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal, keeping her at Ashton Gate until the summer of 2028. Robinson began her career at City, rising through the academy system before making her debut in 2018. She now returns to the club as it continues to embark on a new era under the ownership of Mercury 13.

Bristol City signed Rio Hardy from Scottish side Rangers FC in the summer of 2025. The experienced forward put pen to paper on a two-year deal at Ashton Gate. Hardy played in the Champions League and won the Scottish Cup in 2024/25 with Rangers. The 29-year-old also has WSL2 experience, making 30 appearances at the level with Durham in 2023.

Lexi Lloyd Smith-1

Bristol City have completed the signing of winger Lexi Lloyd-Smith on a two-year deal, following her departure from Southampton. The 21-year-old spent two seasons with the Saints, finding the net five times as the South Coast side finished fourth in the Barclays Women’s Championship last time out. Her career began in the Arsenal Academy before making the switch to Chelsea and then Charlton Athletic, then heading to the USA. Lloyd-Smith played at the highest level of collegiate football for the University of South Alabama, bagging a goal and an assist on her debut, before a return to England.

Maria Farrugia-1

Maltese forward Maria Farrugia linked up with the Robins in 2025 until the summer of 2027. Farrugia signed a two-year deal following a spell at Sheffield United and joined the squad on the first day of pre-season. The attacker has a wealth of Championship experience, donning the colours of Sheffield United, Sunderland, Durham and before that, Lewes and internationally has more than 50 caps for Malta. The former Blade collected the Barclays Women’s Championship Goal of the Season award for her impressive strike against City last season. Farrugia also earned a nomination for the Barclays Women’s Championship Player of the Season after her stand-out performances and four goals throughout the season.
