The Vixens took the lead with the game's first meaningful attempt on goal, as Caroline Weir fired home Loren Dykes' cross from close range after just seven minutes.
After a slow start Liverpool found themselves level midway through the first half when Lucy Staniforth's whipped cross was headed into her own net by Hannah Short. Despite relegation being confirmed last week, Bristol continued to press and after a spell of pressure Christie Murray restored the Vixens lead with a well-sculpted lob over Danielle Gibbons. Willie Kirk's side confidently took their advantage into the break and wasted no time extending their lead after half time.
Just 90 seconds after the restart it was 3-1 when Sophie Ingle's inch perfect cross was confidently slotted past Gibbons by Weir for her second of the night. Liverpool dominated the remainder of the game but fell further behind after 79 minutes when Tatiana Pinto fired home, before Natasha Dowie stabbed in a late consolation which failed to stop Bristol ending an otherwise disappointing season in style.
