Bunny Shaw scored four for the Barclays Women's Super League side, while goals from Filippa Angeldahl, Julie Blakstad and Jemima Dahou completed the scoring.
Gracie Pearse got her first goal in City colours in consolation for the Robins in front of 1,223 at the HPC.
✍️ BACKGROUND
Lauren Smith made four changes from the 2-0 win over Lewes in the Barclays Women's Championship last time out.
Grace Clinton came into the side to lead the line, while Jesse Woolley, Jazz Bull and Ella Powell also came into the starting line-up.
Manchester City named a strong side featuring England internationals Steph Houghton, Alex Greenwood, Laura Coombs, Chloe Kelly and Lauren Hemp.
📝 WHAT HAPPENED?
Bristol City made a bright and energetic start in front of a buzzing crowd, putting together some good passing moves but they could not quite break down the visitors.
Shaw opened the scoring in the 15th minute, working space eight yard out, swivelling and firing past Fran Bentley.
Her second of the game came just 10 minutes later, bringing down Coombs' knockdown before sweeping home from outside the area.
City would go close as Aimee Palmer's free-kick just evaded Jesse Woolley and Rachel Furness at the back post but moments later Shaw completed her hat-trick, meeting Ouahabi's cross at the near post and flicking it over Bentley from six-yards out.
In first-half added time, Filippa Angeldahl extended the Citizen's lead to four with a spectacular strike from outside of the area, volleying into the top corner with venom.
⏱️ HALF-TIME
The Robins started the second half brightly, with half-time substitutes Abi Harrison and Shania Hayles causing problems for the top-flight side.
Harrison lofted a ball in the area towards Jazz Bull but she couldn't quite get her volley on target.
The visitors extended their lead as Hemp forced a good save from Bentley but Blakstad was there to fire home the rebound.
The Reds would have a goal back not long after as Harrison's free-kick was met by Pearse who headed home her first goal in a City shirt.
Shaw's fourth goal of the game came with 15 minutes remaining as the forward held off pressure to fire low past Bentley.
Mary Fowler pounced on a loose ball on 84 minutes, squaring to Blakstad for her second of the afternoon before Jemima Dahou completed the scoring in the 90th minute.
