Bristol City beat Gwalia United 5-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly at the Robins High Performance Centre.

Ffion Morgan, Tianna Teisar, Mari Ward and Jamie-Lee Napier found the net in a 75-minute match.

Jesse Woolley registered the first shot on target of the afternoon as she cut inside from the left and tested the visitors’ stopper.

The visitors carved out a chance after 16 minutes as Emily Poole’s excellent pass to the right wing saw a shot steered wide following a cut-back.

Morgan saw an effort saved after 19 minutes as she broke into the area down the right.

City took the lead after 24 minutes as Ella Powell slid a pass down the right for Morgan who calmly finished from inside the area.

Teisar, who spent last season on loan with the visitors, made it 2-0 with a simple finish after Morgan hit the crossbar from Woolley’s cross.

Defender Sille Struck headed just wide from a corner and Manon Pearce saw an effort saved late in the second third.

Ward made it 3-0 early into the final third as she raced through on goal and found the bottom corner before doubling her tally 14 minutes from time.

Napier then made it 5-0 less than four minutes later with a brilliant lob to cap off a positive first run-out.
