The Vixens got off to a flying start with Millie Farrow opening the scoring on her debut, immediately from kick-off, having recently joined the club on loan from Chelsea.
QPR got back on level terms within a minute as Natalie Richardson equalised for the away side before Corinne Yorston fired City back into the lead at the end of a roller-coaster opening three minutes.
New signing Chloe Arthur then added a third in the thirteenth minute, and whilst the Vixens had plenty of chances to extend their lead, Willie Kirk's side went in at the break 3-1 up.
It didn't take long for City to continue the scoring, with another debutant, Farrow's Chelsea team-mate Jodie Brett, adding a fourth.
Goals from Grace McCatty, another from Farrow and an injury time strike from Tatiana Pinto made it a Valentine's Day massacre of QPR, 7-1.
Bristol City will now face local rivals Yeovil Town in the next round of the Cup.
