Following last week’s draw with Durham, City were looking to revitalise their promotion challenge and were on top from kick-off.
The hosts made their early dominance count as first Jodie Brett launched a powerful strike from outside the area that cannoned into the net off of the crossbar.
And the Vixens were 2-0 by the 11th minute after Deanna Cooper diverted a Claire Emslie ball past Sophie Harris and into the Bees’ goal. The visitors grew into the half but were unable to trouble Caitlin Leach, while City Women continued to look dangerous in possession.
The Bees almost clawed a goal back in the second half after Eva Popadinova sent a teasing ball to the back post, but Ashleigh Goddard could only send her header over the bar.
But 15 minutes from time, City grabbed their third when Charlie Estcourt spotted Harris off her line and executed a lob from 20 yards out.
