City fell to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United at Kingston Park.
Malaika Meena scored on her full debut and Amy Rodgers bagged her first of the season as the Robins equalised twice before eventually tasting defeat.
The fixture burst into life early on as the Magpies opened the scoring after seven minutes through an excellent Beth Lumsden strike, after City turned over possession in their own half.
It took less than a minute though for Steve Kirby's team to level the encounter, Meena arriving late in the area to smash home from Emily Syme's lay-up.
Continuing in high-octane fashion, the game saw its third goal just six minutes later as the hosts regained control of the meeting in almost identical fashion to their opener, Lumsden again applying the finish.
The remainder of the half felt comparatively quiet, Morgan seeing a cross blocked after Syme's sumptuous backheel pass on the half-hour mark.
City looked brighter after the turn of the half, Lexi Lloyd-Smith firing over five minutes after the interval.
The 64th minute brought with it a scare as Charlotte Wardlaw prodded goalwards from a Newcastle corner, but the City defence scrambled the ball off the goalline.
Fran Bentley was forced into action after 74 minutes as she parried away a stinging effort from a tight angle.
10 minutes from time, Amy Rodgers levelled the encounter as she headed home from a corner - her second goal for the club.
But the game would be level for a matter of moments as Deanna Cooper bagged the winner moments later, bundling home from a wide free-kick.
