City ran out comfortable 3-0 winner over Southampton at The Silverlake Stadium in the Adobe Women's FA Cup.
A second-half own goal, adding to strikes from Ella Powell and Libby Bance secured progression to the Fourth Round.
Steve Kirby's side looked sharp from the outset, with both Lexi Lloyd-Smith and Jamie Lee-Napier being unable to connect with dangerous crosses, before the former forced a smart save from Fran Stenson after 24 minutes, tipping over the crossbar.
From the resulting corner, City took the lead. The Robins took it short and Ffion Morgan beat her marker to drill a low cross in for Powell to finish.
And just four minutes later, it was two, Bance reacting first after Ward's cross from the right broke loose in the area.
The second half started quietly, with the hosts finding their feet a little around the hour mark, but with 20 to play, City had the encounter all but wrapped up.
Lloyd-Smith fed Emily Syme on the left of the area and her low ball across was turned home, agonisingly slowly, by a Saints defender.
City now travel to Brighton in the League Cup on Wednesday evening, before hosting Durham as the Barclays Women’s Championship returns on Sunday, December 15th.
