The Robins trailed 2-1 heading into injury time and a late Ebony Salmon equaliser secured a deserved point for City Women.

Chloe Logarzo opened the scoring in the first half with a penalty before goals from Siri Worm and Ashley Neville put Spurs in the driving seat until the 93rd minute.

“It was a great game, I really enjoyed it. We said before that the group had to stay together and they showed an unbelievable attitude to run, stay in the game, to be resilient and that is testament to them as people and the work the players and staff have put in this week,” said Probert

“They’re good people. They want to do well, they want to work and improve, and play for the club - that is a huge percentage of what we need.

“Everyone has been fantastic in the short amount of time that I have worked with them and we talked to the players a lot about staying in the game. Things are going to go against you, that’s football.

“Goals will go against you at times, the referee will make decisions that you don’t agree with, that’s football but the ability to stay in the game is what we’re after.

“Even at 2-1 down you’re still in the game and all you need is one change, which we got, and Ebony took it brilliantly and I thought we were well deserving of a point.

“Getting the first point gives us a good platform moving forward. Tottenham had most of the ball, which is what we expected.

“They moved the ball around to try and break us down, but I think the shape of the team gave us a chance and the discipline of the girls to play in the shape gave us the opportunity to get something from the game.

“We’re disappointed with the goals, conceding from two wide free kicks but that is where we’re at. Something to work on when we get back in on Monday and we’ll be ready to go again.”
