It’s been over six months since City Women were last in action, and Baggaley believes the teams high spirits in training can help push the Robins to start the season strong.
“After the lockdown, everyone was probably more excited to come back compared to usual,” said Baggaley.
“The new players have suited Bristol City really well and they are the type of players you want at the club.
“I think after the long break over lockdown it was challenging in lots of ways, but it was also good for the team to have that time off and refresh themselves for the new season. I think everyone is now more raring to go than ever.
“During the lockdown, you’re limited to what you can do when it comes to football and goalkeeping so as soon as we were back in, it was exciting to get back started and now all that’s left is to play the games.”
City kickstart the 2020/2021 campaign on Sunday, September 6th (2pm) against Everton Women, where Baggaley and the rest of the squad will take to the pitch in their new home ground in Twerton Park for the first time.
“It’s nice to have a stadium that we can call our own, it will be great when the fans come back in to make it a real home for Bristol City Women.
“We know it’s going to be a very challenging game, we’ve got a tough start to the season but we’ve got to do what we’ve got to do to be ready for that first game and everything that we’ve done so far is working towards that, so it should be a good start.
“The league gets more competitive year on year and especially this year there have been more players coming to the league, we’ve had some ourselves and they’ve all come in and has a great impact on the side."
