Bance signs on loan from Brighton.

City Women are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Libby Bance on a season long loan from WSL side Brighton.

The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Rangers and made 15 appearances in the Scottish Women’s Premier League, scoring four goals.

Interim Head Coach Loren Dykes said: “Libby is still a young player but already has really good experience which will help us this season. This adds strength in depth to our midfield and we cannot wait to have her join us.”

Bance has been at Brighton since 2019 and has played 30 games in the top flight of women’s football.

The newest Robin said: “I am excited to be here and develop as a player and a person and can’t wait to get started. I am looking to push on, build up minutes and be part of a good team environment.

“The facilities are amazing, and it should be brilliant to start at Southampton, it will be a competitive game but hopefully we can go and get the edge.

“I am slightly more defensive minded, but I like the freedom to go forward and if there is a choice to shoot on the edge of the box, I might want to have a go!”
