Bristol City Women’s Fran Bentley joined the Foundation to meet the participants from Bristol City Cerebral Palsy FC - City's official associated cerebral palsy team - before the Adobe Women’s FA Cup fixture against Liverpool FC on Sunday, January 14th.

Bristol City Cerebral Palsy FC provides an opportunity for young people with Cerebral Palsy or an acquired brain injury, to play football. The club is recruiting new players with the aim of setting up the first ever cerebral palsy female squad in the South West.

Bentley answered questions from the girls and their parents, sharing her journey from grassroots to becoming a professional and signing for City.

She gave advice and encouragement to the young girls to pursue their football goals, before signing autographs and taking photos.

The City shot-stopper said on meeting the young girls: "It was great to meet everyone today and it's amazing what the club is doing to allow the girls to play football.

"Hopefully more girls get involved, and the team grows and we'll see them at Ashton Gate again!"

In August, Bristol City Cerebral Palsy FC will be hosting a 3-day football festival in Bristol for young people with cerebral palsy, bringing 120 young people from Britain and other parts of Europe together, for an event that they will remember.
