The England Under-23 international has signed a deal that sees her stay in the West Country until June 2024.

Twenty-one-year-old Bentley joined City on loan from Manchester United at the start of last season and, after enjoying her time on and off the pitch, the Manchester-born keeper has committed permanently to Lauren Smith’s side.

Bentley played a big part in the team's success during her time on loan, racking up 19 appearances last season and keeping a club record of 10 clean sheets.

Bentley said: “It feels amazing to be back, I had a great season here last season. I think I developed well as a player and I also love it here so I'm excited. It's definitely a big thing moving teams but, having been here last season, I know what it's like and it definitely helped my decision.

"I spoke to Lauren and I know the ambitions of this club and believe that we can get there. Personally I want to better the clean sheets I got last season which would definitely help. It's a big ambition for me."

City’s No.1 was awarded with the club's Young Player of the Season and was called up to Mo Marley's England Under-23s squad that travelled to Murcia for two matches against the Netherlands in April. Bentley also won the FA Women’s Championship Player of the Week for her impressive performance against Liverpool earlier on in the season.
