Bristol City Women Statement.

The Football Association has announced that the WSL and Championship have finished with immediate effect. Final standings have still to be confirmed.

Bristol City Women Manager Tanya Oxtoby said: “The safety of the players, staff and public is the most important thing and, while it’s disappointing that we cannot finish our eight remaining games, we appreciate that a decision has now been made.

“On behalf of the squad I’d like to thank everyone who has supported us this season - your support is always appreciated. To our wonderful players and staff, the perseverance and courage you have shown this season, given the situation we found ourselves in at times, is to be commended, and I’m very proud of you all.

“Our focus will now turn towards preparing for next season, and our return to football, whenever it’s safe to do so. Stay safe everyone.”
