A Scotland international with 96 caps, Brown returns to the club for which she made 77 appearances over seven seasons between 2014 and 2020.

Brown, a research fellow at the University of Bath, investigating the role of exercise and immune function in people living with cancer, joins chair Gavin Marshall, Richard Gould, Lisa Knights, Kevin Hamblin, Rosie Hadrill and Mike Jones on the Women’s Board.

Marshall said: “Frankie brings a wealth of experience to our Board and we’re delighted to welcome her back into the Bristol City family.

“Building on a successful season on and off the field, Frankie’s knowledge of the women’s game and her understanding of high-performance environments will help us continue to push the club forward.”

Brown said: “I am honoured to be asked to join the Board. It is an exciting time for Bristol City Women, a culmination of a huge amount of dedication and foresight at the club.

“As a player, I have witnessed a sea change in the women’s game throughout my career and this is an opportunity to contribute to the next phase from behind the scenes. I am looking forward to advocating on behalf of past, present and future players in the board room.”
