Bristol City is pleased to announce that Eliot Caton has joined City Women as General Manager ahead of the club’s return to the Barclays Women's Super League.

Caton most recently held the General Manger position at Birmingham City Women, but brings with him a wealth of experience from across a 30-year career in the sporting world.

After completing a Masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology, he moved to the United States of America and began working as Director of Youth Development for Pikes Peak Soccer Club (now Colorado Rush) alongside coaching women's and girl's teams.

His first General Manager role came working for both Surrey Scorchers Basketball and Surrey Storm Netball for a successful period in the sports' respective top divisions before departing to become Head of Business for a sports governing body shortly before the Covid-19 pandemic.

He then took the reigns at the Blues in the Barclays Women's Championship

"The project that Lauren Smith and the club is working on was too exciting not to be involved with and I was delighted to be offered the role and I can't wait to get started," said Caton.

"My philosophy is about empowering people to do the roles that we bring them in to do so we can challenge ourselves and raise our own expectations.

"I think we can do some amazing things at Bristol City."

Gavin Marshall, CEO of the Bristol Sport Group, added, “We’re really pleased to welcome Eliot to Bristol City.

“He brings fantastic experience from variety of sporting sectors which will be really helpful as we adapt to life in the Women's Super League."
