At Bristol City Women, 65% of our workforce is made up of women.
This year to celebrate International Women's Day, we've taken a closer look at the staff that make the difference at this football club.
Interim CEO - Lowri Roberts
Speaking with City's Interim CEO, Roberts said: "Everyday is different and for me, I'm genuinely excited to drive into work everyday knowing there are purpose driven, passionate staff and players waiting at the HPC to get after our mission on a daily basis.
"The sports industry has changed a lot over the years but something that we're super proud of at Bristol City Women is the amount of incredible women that we have in all areas of the club.
We are so proud of the pathways that we are creating for Women to thrive not only on the pitch for players but also off the pitch with our staff."
Head Coach - Charlotte Healy
City Women boss Charlotte Healy discussed her experiences of working at the club too, she said: "I absolutely love working at this football club, to represent and lead Bristol City Women is a real privilege personally.
"Naturally, my role comes with large amounts of responsibility, and so I’m incredibly fortunate to be supported by an exceptional and dedicated team working right across the club that is largely made up of many fantastic women too.
"We are especially proud that so many of our staff are women, sport and football in particular is unequivocally a space for us we belong here, and we will continue to shape the future of football and inspire as many as possible."
Assistant Coach - Loren Dykes
"I think everyone knows it's no secret that this club is really special to me and one that I am protective of, we've been through it all and I've grown so much here"
"We've got a group of players who are an inspiration and represent this city with pride. Everyday I watch them support one another, show vulnerability, courage and use their voices for good. They inspire me everyday.
"We've always been a club that supports and advocates for women. The perspective that women belong in all facets of football, particularly in leadership and decision-making roles, is a growing movement. I'm lucky to be surrounded by so many strong women who support one another everyday.
"To girls who might be thinking about starting football, take that first step and give it a try. It all starts with a first step.
"Happy International Womens day to all those women in sport. Don't forget football is a better place with us in it"
Head of Recruitment - Michelle Yeowell
“Working in an environment surrounded by passionate, talented women in sport is incredibly inspiring. Every day you see people supporting each other, challenging perceptions, and pushing the game forward together.
"At Bristol City Women, that shared commitment creates a culture where women can thrive, develop their careers, and play a real role in shaping the future of football. On International Women’s Day, it’s a reminder of how powerful it is when women lift each other up within the game.”
Natalie Haigh - Academy Manager
"Bristol City Women is a really special place to be, as the academy manger I'm incredibly grateful that I get to regularly work with lots of young talented female athletes.
"This International Women's Day I'd like to celebrate those young athletes. For the players in the academy in particular, it takes a lot of courage to start playing football as a female at a young age, and I know they are an inspiration to myself and those around them, I'm really proud."
Commercial Director - Alex Goldschmidt
"I joined the club as part of the new ownership group, and my experience so far has just been brilliant.
"I've been fortunate enough to be working in sport a long time but this is my first time working out of a high performance facility and each day that I'm in Bristol it feels a real privilege.
"You're surrounded by athletes who are at the top of the game, but also the team behind the team are full of so many impressive individuals so it's great to be a part of it."
Senior Operations and Project Manager - Emma Jolliffe
"It's a great environment to work in here, we've got a lot of women working in senior positions here which is really inspiring for me.
"When I was younger I really wanted to work in sport, but didn't really know how to do that.
"Now I've been here for 10 years and we're seeing more and more women come through each year, especially some of our younger women and those that work in the academy too."
She continued: "My advice to women who might be looking for a role in sport would be just to try it, when I was younger I never felt I had the qualifications to work in football but there's so many transferable skills that can be applied in football like organisation or if you're a people person so just try it."
Sports Scientist - Molly Sadler (left) and Sports Therapist - Meg Hattemore
Sports Scientist Molly Sadler spoke about her experience since joining the club, she said: "Sports science is always something that I've wanted to get into, I've grown up playing and watching women's football so to be in a role combining science and the sport it's the dream.
"Bristol City is an inspiring club, we have such a rich history and in the area there's a great demand for women's football.
"I love the aspiration, the facilities and the resources. I'm surrounded by such inspiring players and staff day to day and I hope more and more women opt to explore a career in football."
Lead Sports Therapist Meg Hattemore continued: "It's a very inclusive environment here, for me it's been a real opportunity to take on more responsibility.
"My background actually lies in the mens side, but having joined the women's it's been fantastic."
Meg also provided advice for females who might be looking to get into a similar role in sport, she added: "You just have to go for it, take every opportunity that comes your way, get the experience early and embrace the opportunities you get!"
