City Women recently welcomed visitors from the Chinese Taipei FA (CTFA) for a week of knowledge sharing, as part of the CTFA’s involvement in FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme.

Twelve coaches who work across youth structures, senior clubs and the Senior Women’s National Team, made up the CTFA cohort who came to experience all aspects of Bristol City’s Academy and Women’s First Team operations.

The week focused on creating effective pathways for young female talent, including presentations from City’s staff on the club’s approach to strategy, coaching, performance, and player welfare.

The CTFA also watched City’s training sessions of both the academy and first team. They also attended the Under 21s victory over Bristol Rovers in the GCFA Women’s Senior Cup semi-fina, and the first team’s 1-1 draw with Charlton. City’s academy players also engaged in post-session Q&As, sharing their experience in the academy.

Head of Women’s Football, Romaney Pinnock said: “This was a first of its kind for us. Cultural and knowledge exchanges of this nature are so critical in creating global reach for our BCWFC way of working. Our staff had an opportunity to share their incredible work with our guests and help workshop what could be implemented back in Taiwan. Furthermore, our staff and players took away so much from spending time with like-minded folks who want to raise the bar of women’s sport and strengthen the pathways that girls can move through.”
