City have signed Danish defender Sille Struck on a one-year contract with an option of an additional year.

Struck spent the past three seasons clocking up 68 appearances in Spanish football – firstly with Rayo Vallencano and last season with Levante Las Planas.

The 24-year-old becomes Lauren Smith’s eighth summer recruit alongside Megan Connolly, Carrie Jones, Kaylan Marckese, Satara Murray, Jamie-Lee Napier, Amy Rodgers and fellow Dane Amalie Thestrup.

“It feels good to sign. I am very proud to be at Bristol City and I am excited for the season and ready to give everything,” said Struck, who represented Denmark at Under 16, 17 and 19 level.

“Ashton Gate is cool and I can’t wait to play in front of the fans. It’s a very strong league and hopefully I can bring some of my experience from Spain here.

“I’m a central defender and I love to have the ball and build up play from behind, but I also really put honour into defending my own goal.”
