City take out Salmon contract extension.

An option to extend the striker’s stay at the club has been exercised, meaning the 19-year-old will see out the second year of her contract.

Prior to the termination of the 2019/20 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the striker had a breakout maiden season in the women’s top flight and led the Robins’ goalscoring charts with eight goals in all competitions.

Salmon, who arrived in the summer of 2019 after departing from Manchester United, possess ferocious pace and a clinical finishing ability, which has seen the youngster take the Barclays FAWSL by storm.

The forward, who can also play out wide, has come up with key goals against Reading, Liverpool, Manchester United and Birmingham throughout the 2019/20 season.

Bristol City Women Manager Tanya Oxtoby said: “Ebony is another one of our young English players who has gone from strength to strength working within our environment and getting much valued WSL game time this year.

“She has had some stellar performances this season, and we are delighted to be able to continue to work with her next season to help her reach her potential.”
