City Women’s Academy side travel to Loughborough University on Sunday in search of silverware and academy coach, Dan Liddard hopes his side can rise to the occasion and call on the experience of their senior players.
“The whole squad is really excited. There has been a good atmosphere in training this week and everyone is looking forward to playing in the stadium on Sunday,” said Liddiard.
“A lot of the group are sixteen, seventeen years old and not been in a cup final before, so this is a great experience for them and I’m looking forward to seeing how they deal with the occasion.
“Some of our players have experienced cup finals before despite being so young, hopefully they can draw on that experience and pull the rest of the group through.
“We’re expecting a good game, both teams are great on the ball, so I am expecting quite a good game for the spectators and if we perform to the levels we know we're capable of I'm sure we can come away with the result."
