City Women support girls football festival.

Bristol City Women’s Jasmine Bull and captain, Megan Connolly joined the Robins Foundation at Imperial Sports Ground for the Let Girls Play Football Festival.

Coinciding with International Women's Day (8th March), the Let Girls Play campaign aims to get as many girls as possible all playing football on the same day in schools across England.

Over 200 girl's from local primary schools showcased their football skills in front of Bull, Connolly and City mascot, Red.

Megan said: "It is amazing to see some many young girls playing football.

"It is important to use our position to encourage the next generation of female players to pursue their dreams of becoming a professional footballer.

"Young girls look up to us as role models, and see that there is a pathway and access for them to achieve their goals in football."

PFA Community Liaison Executive for the Southern Region, Scott Walker was attendance at the Festival and praised all those involved.

Scott said: “It was a fantastic visit by two of the club's leading female players, Megan Connolly and Jasmine Bull, who both gave the children in attendance a special treat by showcasing their skills and interacting with all the girls that were there today!" 

"We ensure that our members can positively influence and inspire the next generation, the PFA sees this as an important element of a player's career and values the great support that is provided by both the Football Club and the Robins Foundation."
