The midfielder got her head to Aimee Palmer’s free-kick to level the scores and Abi Harrison copy-catted to flick on Jodie Hutton’s cross for a 97th-minute winner.
Clinton, who arrived in BS8 just 24 hours earlier on loan from Manchester United and had come on as 63rd-minute substitute, was delighted to open her account and help secure three points.
“What a roller-coaster!” said Clinton. “It would have been nice to win with a goal and a clean-sheet but it’s nice to be part of a win like that. We were 2-1 down and just throwing balls into the box and I thought ‘I just needed to get my head on this’ and then Abi’s was the winner.
“When the momentum is not on your side and you have to turn it round you have to pull things out of the bag and we did that today and really showed our character.”
