Bristol City have signed Marine Dafeur on a two-year deal.
The 30-year-old signs after spending her whole career in France and links up with Charlotte Healy’s squad ahead of the WSL 2 campaign, which starts on Sunday.
Her most recent club FC Fluery play in the Première Ligue – the highest level of women’s football in France. Dafeur can play as both a left back and left midfield and becomes Charlotte Healy’s 13th signing of the season.
In 2023, she decided to switch her allegiance from international football with France and joined Algeria, where she has made nine appearances, scoring three goals.
On signing for the Robins, she said: “I have spent my entire career in France, and I wanted a project abroad and I was in contact with Bristol City. The project really interested me and really inspired me.”
Head Coach Charlotte Healy said: “Marine has a huge amount of experience at the highest level of French football. She really wanted to challenge herself in England and we are really pleased to have got her in the building at Bristol City. She is such a fantastic player, and we cannot wait to work with her and for the fans to see her qualities.”
