Dykes and Yorston to be inducted into Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame is an initiative of Bristol City Supporters Club & Trust (BCSC&T). The ceremony will take place in the 2022/23 season, alongside new inductees from Bristol City FC.

To celebrate, BCSC&T are delighted that HOF inductees Corinne Yorston and Loren Dykes will be guests of honour at Ashton Gate on Sunday, April 3rd, .

For those who were never lucky enough to see Yorston and Dykes play, make no mistake, you will be in the presence of two genuine City Women legends.

Yorston and Dykes both captained Bristol City WFC with distinction; Yorston across three spells with the club (2005-09; 2010-14; 2016-18), Dykes toward the end of her 11-year career at Bristol, which began when she joined Bristol Academy in the 2008/09. In the 2020/21, Dykes became part of City Women’s coaching set-up, earning her stripes as Tanya Oxtoby’s Assistant Coach in a bruising relegation season.

Yorston and Dykes were part of the teams which reached two FA Cup Finals in 2011 and 2013, and narrowly missed out on the FA WSL title in 2013. In the 2011/12 and 2013/14 seasons they played in the UEFA Champions League – memorably beating Barcelona at Ashton Gate to reach the quarter-finals in 2014.

Yorston also has six senior England caps to her name, and continues to make a huge contribution to the game as the FA’s Women’s Youth Development Phase and Talent Pathway Player Insights Lead. Dykes has 105 senior Wales caps and in 2019 was awarded an MBE for services to Women football in Wales. She is currently Wales’ Assistant Coach, and is responsible for overseeing the under-17s programme.

The historic recognition of two City Women legends is one of several recent actions taken by Bristol City Supporters Club & Trust that celebrate the heritage and current achievements of Bristol City Women FC.

In 2021 BCSC&T awarded the first ever Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season trophies to City Women. Both were bagged by dynamic forward Ebony Salmon, who scored ten goals in the 20/21 season.

You can vote for 21/22’s Player and Young Player of the Season by following this link. Voting closes at midnight, 4 April. Winners will be presented with their awards on 24 April, at City Women’s .

2022 BCSC&T will also be the first year a Golden Boot is presented for City Women’s leading goal scorer.

BCSC&T are committed to being a voice for all Bristol City fans and encourage City Women fans to become members.

In September 2021, BCSC&T signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with BCWFC. The MOU supports structured dialogue meetings between representatives from the football club and BCWFC, that take place at least twice a year. These meetings enable supporters to ask questions about key issues affecting the club, and feedback on matchday experiences. They are vital forms of engagement and help us to work together in the best interests of Bristol City WFC. You can read the minutes from our January/February 2022 meetings here.

BCSC&T hold open monthly meetings on the first Wednesday of the month to discuss issues affecting all Bristol City fans. Everyone is welcome to come along. These meetings are used to organise events – most notably the recent 40^th anniversary commemorations for the Ashton Gate 8 – and hear from important projects, such as #HerGameToo and Bristol City Panthers, Bristol’s LGBTQI+ football team.

In the future, BCSC&T hope to build on the momentum created in the past few years and continue to advocate and represent the interests of City Women fans. You can be part of this journey too.
