The centre-back was absent for the Reds’ midweek loss to Manchester City but returned to skipper the side against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Wales international was ‘buzzing’ to get on the scoresheet and pleased overall with the resolve shown by her team, as they fought back to earn a valuable point in their bid for Barclays FAWSL survival.

She said: “I think in the first half we didn’t really come out of the blocks, if I am being honest. We were maybe a little lucky to go in just the one goal down, but in the second half we redeemed ourselves and the girls put a proper shift in.”

“We have had a midweek game against Manchester City and we’ve come and performed today as well – I’m really proud of the effort from the girls.

“I couldn’t have asked for any more in coming back and managing to get a goal, but the main thing is the team performance and we got there in the end, so I’m happy with that!”
