'Feeling fresh and ready to go' - Oxtoby.

The Robins have now had a full two week’s rest after their last game against Durham went into extra time in the FA Cup. Oxtoby believes this has given the new signings a chance to integrate with the squad at their own pace.

“It’s great I think the guys that have arrived in January have really added a freshness to the place, a desire to want to be better and that's what we want at this club” said Oxtoby.

“I think everybody’s feeding off each other now which is great. We had an extra session under our belt last week with the postponement of the game which has done us a world of good, the girls are feeling fresh and ready to go.

“We’re at home which is always exciting for us and hopefully the fans will get behind us and we can give them a good performance on Sunday.”

“It finished 3-3 the last time these two teams met back in November as City fought back from 3-1 down. Whilst the game was exciting for the neutral, Oxtoby says there are certain things the girls can improve on from the away fixture.

“I’ve watched the game back again this week and I’ve had a look at our first 20 minutes and we were all over the shop! Hopefully we can start a little better than that this time, I think that’s really important.

“For us to make sure that we are solid, we don’t want to be chasing the game like we were last time, we know we’ve got goals in us going the other way but we need to tighten up a little bit.

“Reading are a great side, you nullify one threat and they’ll expose you in another area so we need to make sure we are adaptable and fluent in what we are trying to do out of possession and we know what we’re trying to do in possession when we’ve won the ball back.”

Bristol City Women take on Reading this coming Sunday at the SGS College Stoke Gifford Stadium and supporters can purchase their tickets here.
