For the 2nd year, Bristol City Robins Foundation, in collaboration with Glamr, their Central Bristol Youth Council, held an Iftar after their weekly girls' football session. City Women's player Lexi Lloyd-Smith helped the Youth Council plan the event, having attended their first Iftar last year. She brought along Mari Ward to enjoy the atmosphere too.

Youth Council members are made up of attendees from the Thursday girls-only Kicks session at St Paul's. They came up with the plan for the event: choosing location, running order, requirements, as well as food and drink, specifically requesting Rubicon fizzy mango and Halal pepperoni pizza. Session participants, City Women's players and Foundation staff got involved in games and shared in food and drink after those observing Ramadan had prayed at sun down.

Lauren Phillips, Lead Coach of this session said:

“After the success of last year's Iftar, we were all keen to do it again! Having Lexi back is great for the girls. They really look up to her as a role model and are so happy when she comes to the session off her own back and gets involved. Sharing their culture with us means a lot and we are always learning more.”

The Glamr and Ignite (South Bristol) Youth Councils are getting involved with the Women's Foundation matchday on the 22nd of March. They are doing some behind the scenes work and are responsible for some announcing on the day. They have taken charge of the Half Time activity, engaging fans of all ages in something exciting.
