Bristol City have signed Jessie Gale on loan from Arsenal until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old forward began her professional career with Charlton before joining the Gunners’ academy aged 17 in January 2024.

Gale signed her first professional contract with Arsenal in July 2025, and has spent the first half of the season on loan with Portsmouth.

This season, Gale has scored five goals in 15 appearances for Pompey.

In her time at Arsenal, Gale has established herself as a valuable member of the Under-21’s side, helping the Gunners to win the FIFA Youth Cup in Zurich in May 2024.

In the 2024/25 season she split her football with the Arsenal Under-21s, winning the PGA League Under-21 Division One title, while also spending the season at Watford on a dual registration basis where she contributed seven goals and five assists in 21 appearances.

City’s latest signing has represented England at youth level in both the Under-19s and Under-20s squads, scoring four times across her 11 appearances for the Young Lionesses.

On signing for City, she said: “I’m really excited to be here, it’s such an ambitious club and after speaking to the manager and players it sounds like a really exciting journey to be a part of.

“The recent investment from Mercury13 is really important but also the club is fighting for promotion, and you want to be part of a team that’s in match winning games.”

Head Coach Charlotte Healy added: “We’re delighted to bring Jessie into Bristol City for the second half of the season.

“She has shown her quality in the WSL2 throughout the first half of the season and we know she’s someone who can add quality to our group.

“She’s a young, talented player who is lightning quick and can cause real problems for teams, so she’s another really exciting addition for us.”
