'Good to be back on the pitch' – Harrison.

Harrison returned to the City line-up for the first time in their FA Barclays Women’s Super League season opener against Everton after spending over nine months out injured.

The forward is loving life back on the pitch however, despite City’s tough start to the season.

“The way the league’s going we like to test ourselves against the toughest opponents, we’ll be looking to make progress from our last game, and we know the Arsenal game is going to be really, really tough and we’re aware of that,” Harrison told Robins TV.

“We’re putting in the preparation and hopefully we put a good performance in. They’ve been tough games to be in but it’s good to be back on the pitch, back in training surrounded by the girls, there’s no feeling like it.

“When you’re away from football and you can’t physically play you appreciate everything. The first time you run, I’ll never complain about running again, so it’s just about being back on the pitch and it’s the thing that I love doing that makes me the happiest. I’m happy and long may it continue.”

The Robins have had a difficult beginning to the new campaign and the tough fixtures continue with a visit to Arsenal, however Harrison is relishing the test as well as City's upcoming games.

“When the fixtures came out it was a very hard start for us on paper and we knew that.

“I think after the Chelsea game we needed some time off to reflect and just get back into training, try to move on from that and work on things we’ve got to work on. Arsenal will be a tough test, but training’s been good and we look forward to it.

“The first three games were always going to be tough and then we get a nice run of games after that where we really back ourselves to go and get points on the board and perform better, so it’s about getting through these first three games at the start and although results haven’t been what we wanted, we're onto the last one of the really tough start and hopefully we can kick on from there.

"Our attitudes have been good, we’ve been switched on and working hard in training and we know it needs to be better for ourselves, for the club, for the fans.”
