The eighteen-year-old striker will bolster Tanya Oxtoby’s attacking options as the Robins embark on the second half of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League campaign

The forward is a product of the Everton Women Academy and signed her first professional deal with the Merseyside club in the summer of 2019.

Over the past twelve months Hughes has also become a regular in Jane Ludlow’s Wales squad after breaking into the international set-up in March 2018 with the youngster also being named Young Player of the Year for her national side.

Hughes netted her maiden goal for Everton in a Merseyside derby triumph over Liverpool in December 2018. She went on to make a further 11 appearances for Everton in 2018/19, as well as featuring on five occasions throughout the first half of the 2019/20 season for Willie Kirk’s side.

Bristol City Women Manager, Tanya Oxtoby, said: We’re delighted to welcome Elise to Bristol City.

“We identified the centre forward role as an area we needed to strengthen due to long-term injuries and we feel Elise can add real to the value to the squad and the frontline in particular.

“She’s a young and talented player who has potential to shine in the Barclays WSL and who impressed me during her performances at international level with Wales. I’m really looking forward to working with her throughout the second half of the season, to help us achieve our goals.”

Hughes is eligible to play in this weekend's clash with Manchester United Women at Leigh Sports Ground on Sunday, January 5th (3pm).
