Humphries signs for the Robins.

City Women have signed Chelsea defender Greta Humphries on loan for the 2024/25 season.

Fresh from signing her first professional contract this summer for the WSL Champions, the 19-year-old will link up with Lauren Smith’s side ahead of the new Barclays Championship season.

Humphries said of signing for City: "The club is really ambitious, the players are lovely from meeting them this week.

"I'm so excited to get started and I think it’s going to be a really exciting journey.

‘I want us to be as competitive as possible in the championship and get as much experience as possible in women’s football."

Humphries has been at Chelsea Women’s academy since 2022 and won the FA WSL Academy Cup in that time.

Head Coach Lauren Smith said: “I am delighted to get this loan deal over the line and Greta’s talent has clearly been recognised by her signing professional terms with Chelsea this summer.

“We are excited to see what she can do, and she bolsters our backline ahead of the new season.”
