'It's all about the performance' - Oxtoby.

City couldn’t have started off their Continental Cup campaign in better fashion after their 4-0 victory over London Bees in their first game of the group stages.

Tonight's fixture is a chance for the Robins to get back to winning ways after their defeat to Birmingham City in the Barclay’s FA Women’s Super League, and Oxtoby will be hoping that her side can replicate their display from their last Conti Cup outing when they visit South London to face Crystal Palace.

“We're looking forward to getting back into some games and putting things right,” said Oxtoby.

“Obviously we were disappointed after our last fixture, so it’s a good opportunity for us to go out and be positive on the ball and put in a good performance against Palace.

“It’s about performance for me, we have a lot of players who probably have a little bit to prove after the last game and this is a really good opportunity for them to go out and be positive with the ball, be balanced behind the ball and make sure that we get a good result.

“Palace are not an easy side to play, it’s a midweek fixture away from home so we’re going to have to be at our best to make sure we get the job done.”

Palace were victorious in their first Conti Cup game where they defeated their Championship opposition Lewes Women 2-1, putting them level on points at the top of Group F with City.

This won’t be the first fixture between the two this season, however. The two sides met behind closed doors in a pre-season fixture, where the Robins were victorious.

“They were tough. I think it was only their second game they played and they were a great test for us so we are certainly under no illusions that we're going there to have an easy game.

"As I said, we have to go out there and be positive on the ball, play our patterns and make sure that we are solid without the ball as well.”
