Shania Hayles opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when she came off the left side to finish and Emily Syme made sure of Cup progress in the 64th minute with a free-kick into the top corner.
And after reversing the result of the 1-0 extra-time defeat City suffered to Southampton last January, Layzell said: “In the last few games we haven’t kept clean sheets and keeping them is important for us so to get one today and get through to the next round of the Cup is what we wanted.”
Layzell went on to praise Syme’s ‘worldie’ goal and looked forward to the Fourth Round draw on Monday evening (December 12th).

Sunday's fixture at the Robins High Performance Centre was City Women's last home game for a month as the Barclays Championship embarks on a four-week winter break.
The Robins are back in action in BS8 on Sunday, January 15th (3pm) to take on Coventry United.
