"Naomi is a brilliant young talent and we're really pleased to have her on board for the next two seasons," said Head Coach Lauren Smith. "She'll be an important player for us as we return to the top flight."

Having joined Bristol City as a 16-year-old, Layzell already has a taste of Barclays Women's Super League action with the Robins. Now, ahead of her fourth season in red and white, the defender is relishing the opportunity to make the step back up.

"I’m delighted to have signed a new deal with the club I’ve been at for the last three seasons," she said.

"I’m excited for the challenge ahead and to be going up as part of the group who won the title last season. We know it’s going to be a tough test but the facilities we have and the brilliant staff group behind us will give us the best chance to achieve what we’re capable of."
