Match Preview: Lewes (H).

08 Jun 2026BCW Media Team

Buoyed by Wednesday night's victory over table-toppers London City Lionesses, Lauren Smith's side will be looking to to replicate the result that saw them beat Sunday's opponents in the FA Continental Tyres Cup last month.

Jodie Hutton scored the only goal of the game as the Robins prevailed at The Dripping Pan, with Naomi Layzell's late, last-ditch tackle insuring progression through the Group Stage to set up a tie with Manchester City.

Lewes, who currently occupy sixth place in the division, found themselves on the wrong end of a 4-0 scoreline last time out, as Jade Pennock's hat-trick insured Birmingham City left East Sussex with a full compliment of points.

šŸ†š OUR OPPONENTS: LEWES FC

Formed: 2002
Stadium: The Dripping Pan
Nickname: The Rooks
Manager: Scott Booth
Finish last season: 8th

The Rooks have experienced a range of form throughout the 2022/23 campaign so far, winning four, drawing four and losing three of their 11 league outings.

Only Blackburn Rovers and Southampton have drawn more games than Scott Booth's side, though all four of their stalemates came in their first four league outings of the campaign. During this run, the Rooks took points off London City Lionesses, Southampton and Birmingham City, who all now occupy the top four along with Bristol City.

Aside from Sunday's heavy loss at the hands of Birmingham City, both of Lewes' other defeats have come against side below them in the table, proving them to be something of an unpredictable package.
