08 Jun 2026BCW Media Team

The Robins clinched their place in the knockout stages after a 1-0 win in the South Coast against Lewes to top Group D.

Lauren Smith’s side meet the Citizens for the second time at the same stage of the competition, after facing the Barclays WSL outfit last season – Man City running out 3-1 winners at the Etihad Campus.

The Robins are familiar with reaching the final eight of the League Cup competition after securing a spot in the final stages for the fourth consecutive season, notably reaching the final at Vicarage Road against Chelsea in 2021.

Over 2,000 supporters have already claimed a ticket for tonight's quarter-final which will be available to purchase up until kick-off!

Nickname: The Citizens, City
Manager: Gareth Taylor

Manchester City travel to the West Country in fine form – 13 unbeaten – and will undoubtedly provide Lauren Smith’s side with their biggest test of the season.

Despite their run of positive results, Man City are currently five points off the pace in the race for the Barclays WSL title.

And although they’ll see the league title as winnable, Gareth Taylor‘s Blues will be eager to get their hands on as many domestic trophies as possible to go some way to proving 2022/23 a successful season.

Man City have secured four wins from four in the Group Stage after getting the better of Blackburn Rovers, Sunderland, Liverpool and Leicester City.

⏮ MATCH REWIND

Result: Manchester City 1-1 Bristol City
When: 06.01.2019
Competition: Women's Super League

Lucy Graham’s second half penalty helped Bristol City Women come from behind to draw 1-1 with Manchester City at the SGS College Stoke Gifford Stadium.

The visitors took the lead with ten minutes to play in the first-half, Abbie McManus showed great awareness and footwork in the box to beat two Bristol City Women defenders and pick out Nikita Parris, who placed the ball into the bottom corner and put her side ahead.

Chances came few and far between in then opening stages of the second half, but that all changed when Jennifer Beattie brought down Lucy Graham in the box leaving referee, James Durkin no choice but to point to the spot.

It was Graham who stepped up and sent Roebuck the wrong way to cooly dispatch her penalty into the bottom corner and bring Tanya Oxtoby’s side level.
