👀 A LOOK BACK: Blackburn Ladies 0-1 Bristol City Women (Sun, Jan 16th)

City Women extended their unbeaten run to nine games as they beat Blackburn 1-0 at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium on Sunday in their first outing of 2022.

City had to defend strongly early on, with Ella Powell putting in a strong clearance to deny the home side an opportunity while, moments later, Leah Cataldo shielded the ball well to win a free-kick as Blackburn pressed forward.

Then came the breakthrough in the 17th minute with Harrison’s half-vollley after a scramble in the box from a City corner.

The Reds had chances to make it a more comfortable victory but Harrison's 11th goal of the season was enough to secure all three points in the Robins' first game of the New Year.

LAUREN HEMP

Hemp started her senior career at Bristol City after joining the club in 2016, netting against Watford on her debut soon after.

After a successful period at the Robins, netting nine goals in 24 games, the striker was then signed by high-flying Manchester City in 2018.

Hemp has bagged 18 goals since joining from the Reds and has gone on to make 12 appearances for England, hitting the back of the net on four occasions.
