👀 A LOOK BACK: Bristol City Women 0-2 Charlton (Sun, Jan 23rd)

A great drive forward from Lia Cataldo on the left nearly earned the Robins their first chance of game but some quick thinking from the Charlton defence stopped the attack progressing.

Moments later City had a great chance to open the scoring when Ffion Morgan won the ball just outside the box and delivered a ball into the box, but Chloe Bull couldn’t quite direct her shot on target.

Lois Heuchan had a great chance to give the visitors the lead as Megan Wynne delivered a ball right to her feet, but the Addicks attacker failed to hit the target.

Just minutes later Heuchan had the ball in the back of the net as she fired a half-volley into the top corner from Elise Hughes’ cross.

Elise Hughes put the visitors 2-0 up in the 73rd minute when she tapped in from close range after the ball eventually fell to her from Lois Roche’s corner.

Southampton currently sit 3rd in the National League Southern after winning their last eight matches, tallying up 31 goals in the process.

Whilst the Saints come into this game off the back of eight wins on the bounce, the Robins come into this game looking to return to winning ways after suffering two defeats in a row since Manchester City ended their unbeaten run in the quarter-finals of the FA Continental Cup.

After scoring in her two previous matches, 19-year-old Georgie Freeland will want to continue her scoring form as the midfielder sets her eyes on her 5th of the season against the Robins at St Marys.

Ella Pusey

With 14 goals in 12 games this season Pusey has shown she is lethal in front of goal.

Back in October the 21-year-old netted a hat-trick against Keynsham Town when her side put nine past the Bristol based team.

The striker has cemented her place in Marianne Spacey-Cale's front line, with her impressive goal to game ratio impossible to overlook.
