‘No tougher test’ - Oxtoby.

Oxtoby and her team take on the star-studded Blues in the early kick-off on Sunday and the Australian has urged her side to embrace the challenge of facing one of Europe’s best.

Positive mindset

“We’ve responded well in terms of the performances in training and there’s no tougher test than going to one of the best teams in Europe.

“Weekend’s like this against opposition like Chelsea is a massive test for our young group. We’re going to make mistakes and in this league if you make mistakes then you’re going to get punished, but it’s a fantastic opportunity for us.

“We have got to go there with a positive mindset and embrace the challenge and that has been the message to the girls all week, enjoy the challenge and when we make a mistake lets work hard to rectify it. “

Consistency

“We talk about consistency and whether that is consistency week-to-week or whether that is in the game, we were punished for lapses in concentration last weekend and that's ultimately what cost us.

“It’s about finding the balance this weekend. Making sure we focus on us, the things we can control and being positive when we make a mistake.”

Perspective

“The first three games are huge challenge with the opposition we’re facing and come the end of this run we’ll have a really good understanding of where we’re at and what we’ll need to work on. 

“It’s going to be a long season and there will be tough times ahead, we can’t hide away from that but one, two, three games does not define us and our season.”
