Three-time Olympian and Co-owner of BW Cycling, Oli Beckingsale, has continued his long-standing partnership with Break the Cycle for 2024.
This is the 12th time in Break the Cycle's 14-year history that BW Cycling has supported the event, with Beckingsale designing the three routes on offer to cyclists.
Break The Cycle takes place on Sunday, June 30th and offers riders the choice of three routes (Gold 100 miles, Silver 66 miles and Bronze 33 miles) to raise vital funds for their chosen charity between BSF, Bears Community Foundation or the Robins Foundation.
Talking about the event, Beckingsale said: “It's a great event. It's an annual event in Bristol, it’s local customers and local charities. It’s the 14th year and this is our 12th year supporting, so we've been supporting for as long as we've had the business here.
“For me, it's exciting how cycling has grown into a participation sport in the UK. It's now a fantastic vehicle for people to get out, get healthy, and raise money for charity and take on a challenge from 33 miles to 100 miles, there’s a challenge for everybody.
“It's an obvious one for us to support from a business point of view, but it becomes bigger than that. They're [Bristol Sport Foundation, Bears Community Foundation and Robins Foundation] doing some fantastic work, and it's great helping local charities doing an amazing job.”
Funds raised for Bristol City's official charity - the Robins Foundation - will go directly towards delivering free to access, life-changing local community projects and programmes that directly impact people in areas of deprivation, who need it the most.
Riders taking part in Break the Cycle 2024 for Bristol Sport Foundation will be helping to raise funds to expand delivery of the Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) programme across Bristol and South Gloucestershire, which ensures children from low-income families can participate in sport and receive a hot meal outside of term time at no cost.
The money raised for Bears Community Foundation will support the charity’s inclusion programmes, specifically those that exist to support access to sport and physical activity for those with disabilities, additional needs or live in areas of high deprivation.
Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to support our Bristol Sport charities.
