After the first three games of the season her side sit on five points and remain unbeaten in the Women’s Super League after beating Brighton and Hove Albion on the opening weekend as well as picking up a point against both Chelsea and Manchester City.

On receiving her trophy from Thomas Lyte of the LMA, Oxtoby said: “Firstly, I would like to say that it is a great honour to receive this award.

“I would like to thank the LMA panel for recognising our performances as group over the last month in what has been a really difficult start to the season with the calibre of opposition we have faced, but we have come through those tests stronger as a group and we are looking forward to the new challenges ahead.

"Receiving this award is down to the collective effort of the group here at Bristol City Women, everyone works exceptionally hard for one another and I’m excited to see how much further we can develop with the level of talent we have got."

Chair of the League Managers Association panel Marieanne Spacey-Cale said: “An entertaining and very competitive start to the Women’s season has seen a number of strong performances across both leagues.

“Tanya Oxtoby has stepped into her role, later than most, and set her team up to take points off two of the season’s favourites for silverware. A fantastic start for her and her players.”

Oxtoby and her side will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the WSL season when they welcome Birmingham City Women to the SGS College Stoke Gifford Stadium on Sunday, October 14th (3pm KO) and tickets for the game can be purchased
