Oxtoby searching for consistency.

Two goals in either half handed the visitors all three points at Twerton Park.

“First and foremost, you have got to give credit to Birmingham. They were excellent and by far the better side,” said Oxtoby.

“We started well but just didn’t recover after they scored off their set-piece, we need to go away and take a long hard look at ourselves.

“We need to become more consistent as a group. We put in a good performance against Arsenal, and then against London Bees but today we looked flat.

“We never recovered after conceding and having that character to come back is something that we need to assess.

“Birmingham didn’t come here and do anything that we hadn’t planned for, they just did it well and we didn’t adjust to it.”

Oxtoby will also be set for a spell without midfielder, Aimee Palmer who dislocated her knee after a heavy challenge on Sunday afternoon.

“I’ve said it before, we need to protect the players. It was a horrific challenge and that particular player then goes up the other end and wins a penalty, and scores it.

"We wish Aimee all the best and we’ll be with her all the way in her recovery.”
