The 19-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Robins to see her return to the West Country having left in 2018 to join Manchester United.

The talented English midfielder made 16 top-flight appearances for City in her first stint at the club and her return strengthens Oxtoby’s midfield options further.

Palmer’s talents have also seen her progress through the Young Lionesses’ pathway and represent England at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level.

“I’m very excited to be back at the club where my professional football journey started,” said Palmer.

“I know Bristol City is a great club and I’m looking forward to getting back on the pitch and working with Tanya.

“I’ve grown a lot as a player, and a person over the last two years - I can’t wait to show that this season.”

Oxtoby said: “We’re delighted Aimee will be re-joining Bristol City ahead of the new season.

“She’s a young, talented English midfielder, who has the potential to develop into a great all-round footballer. Aimee, like a number of players we have recruited throughout this period, not only will be a great addition from a technical and tactical point of view, but she very much fitted the character of player we were looking for moving into this season.

“Aimee has massive potential, and the fact she was wanting to return to Bristol says a lot about the culture we have created here at the club over the last two years, and I’m excited to watch her grow and develop further within our environment.”
