Pike has completed two sets of 90 minutes in the City midfield since her arrival and it was the midfielder’s corner which led to City’s opener in their 1-1 draw with West Ham on Sunday.
The 20-year-old arrived at City on loan during the final day of the January window and while she admits it “all happened quite quickly”, she has wasted no time in settling into the life in Bristol.
“It all happened quite quickly to be honest, but all the players and staff have been so lovely in helping me settle into life at Bristol City,” said Pike.
“I’m really happy I have had the opportunity to play two ninety minutes in my first two games. I’m really glad Matt (Beard) has put faith in me, and I hope I can keep proving to him why I should be playing.
“He has brought a lot of confidence into the group and we’re beginning to play with a bit more freedom, which is what he emphasises, and you can see it’s working on the pitch.
“We’re on a really good run at the minute and we hope we can keep this up going into our last game before the international break. The girls have a great sense of togetherness and I’m really enjoying it so far.”
Pike has come to the West Country with a point to prove and she’s hopeful her performances will aid City Women’s bid to maintain their Barclays FAWSL status come the end of the season.
“My aim is to go out there and show that I can play at the Barclays FAWSL level consistently and complete 90 minutes, and I have had a great opportunity to do that so far.
"Every time we step out onto the pitch we want to prove to people why we deserve to stay in this league."
