After making 28 City appearances last season, and scoring her first goal for the club, the wing-back has put pen to paper on a contract that will keep her in the South West until 2025.
"We're pleased to have re-signed Ella for two more years. She's a fantastic athlete and exactly the kind of player we need in the squad as we head back to the Barclays Women's Super League," said Head Coach Lauren Smith.
Powell came through the youth system at Cardiff City Ladies before plying her trade in the US National Collegiate Athletic Association with the Georgia State Panthers, making her senior Wales debut the same year.
The now 23-year-old returned from America to sign for Lewes in 2019 before joining Charlton Athletic the following season. She then made the switch to Bristol City where she has already clocked up over 50 appearances.
She said: “I’m really excited for the challenge of stepping up to the WSL. Looking back on last season we’re all filled with pride for what we achieved, but we’re now ready to test ourselves at the next level.
Since I was young I’ve always wanted to be able to say that I’m a WSL player and now I’ve got the chance to do that with a brilliant group of girls.
I reached the 50 game milestone with Bristol City last season and the club has felt more and more like home with each of those games so I’m really happy to be able to call this my home for another two years.”
