Bristol City kick-off their Barclays Women’s Super League 2 campaign with a trip to Birmingham City on Sunday, September 7th (2pm).

The Robins’ pre-season preparations concluded with a 2-0 win over fellow WSL 2 outfit Newcastle United at Ashton Gate last week thanks to goals from Ella Powell and summer signing Maria Farrugia.

Head Coach Charlotte Healy has added thirteen players to her ranks including former Barcelona captain Vicky Losada and five-time WSL winner Sophie Ingle, and was able to get three final deals over the line before Thursday’s transfer deadline with the arrivals of Marine Dafeur, Naomi Williams and Olivia Johnson.

“We know what Birmingham are about.. they’ll be well coached, they’ll be organised and they’ll be a really strong opponent for us,” said Healy as she previewed her first league game in charge of City.
