The sides last met in the Continental Cup on a fiery Bonfire night fixture at the Stoke Gifford Stadium in November, which Chelsea won 2-1.
Chelsea were victorious thanks to a 90th minute winner from Karen Carney. City Women pushed Chelsea all the way but Carney burst into the box late on and won herself a penalty, she sent Aimee Watson the wrong way to give her side all three points.
Today’s meeting
Bristol City Women return to the South West fresh from a number of positive away performances, defeating Sunderland, Everton and most recently Yeovil on Saturday which means they currently sit seventh in the table.
Chelsea make their way south having picked up the FA Cup title. They defeated bitter rivals Arsenal 3-1 at Wembley in front of a record crowd of over 45,000.
Due to external results, Chelsea could be crowned WSL 1 champions tomorrow.
One to watch
Ji So-Yun – Having joined the Blues in January 2014, Ji So-Yun quickly became an anchor of the team thanks to her impressive technical ability and pinpoint passing. She has been instrumental in Chelsea’s recent FA Cup victory and is South-Korea’s all-time top goal scorer, having made her international debut in 2006.
