Previous meeting
It was a close match when the two teams last met back in January, with England international Siobhan Chamberlain pulling off some brilliant saves to deny the Vixens.
A second-half brace from Bethany England was enough to secure all three points for the Reds, but Bristol City Women left Merseyside having put in a valiant display at the Select Security Stadium.
Today’s meeting
The Vixens fell to a narrow 2-0 defeat during their last match against Birmingham City Ladies. The squad will be looking to get back to winning ways today after a string of tough results.
Liverpool Ladies have taken just nine points from a possible 21 in recent weeks and currently sit just three places above Bristol City Women in WSL 1, in sixth.
One-to-watch:
Gemma Bonner – Having signed for Liverpool from rivals Chelsea in 2012, skipper Bonner has been ever present in the Reds defence.
She suffered ankle ligament damage when her side last faced the Vixens and was out of action for 12 weeks, making her return to first team football during Liverpool’s 4-0 victory over Yeovil Town earlier this month.
