Bristol City are on the road for the final time this campaign as they visit Chelsea on Sunday, May 5th (6:45pm).

After relegation from the Barclays Women’s Super league was confirmed following the defeat to Manchester City last week, Lauren Smith’s side will still be going in search of maximum points as they head into the penultimate game of the season.

Smith will be keen for her side to start building some momentum ahead of their season back in the Championship next year, but the trip to Chelsea poses one of the biggest tests of this campaign to date.

City’s main source of goals Amalie Thestrup is only one away from hitting double figures in the League, and The Robins have visibly improved in performance since the return to fitness of Rachel Furness.

Jazz Bull dealt well with the test of the League leaders at right back last time out, having only made her first WSL start a week prior.

Champions Chelsea clinched their sixth Barclays Women’s Super League title last campaign, narrowly beating Manchester United to the trophy.

One of the most successful sides in British Women’s football history, The Blues have consistently challenged at the top end of the WSL since they were inducted into the division in 2011.

Emma Hayes announced midway through the season that it would be her last at the helm of The Blues, but her side have been unable to quite capture the same form as they did last campaign, finding themselves second with three games remaining, six points behind leaders Man City, meaning every game is a must win for the soon-to-be US Women's National Team manager and her team.
